  • Know as a simple man and played a violin and enjoyed sailing
  • When he turned 14, he became interested in theoretical physics
  • When he was 16 he applied to the Federal Polytechnic school in Zurich Switzerland
  • He got accepted in 1896 for his second attempt for the Federal Polytechnic school
  • In 1905 (26 years old) he published four important scientific papers
  • 1909 he was hired as a professor at the university of Zurich
  • Moved to Germany then devoted his life to the theories of relationships between mass and energy, characteristics of atoms, and the structure of the universe
  • During World War 1 he became a pacifist
  • He was advanced to a permanent position at the Institute for Advance study in Princeton, New Jersey
  • In 1941 he became a United State citizen
